Showy Goldenrod-Solidago speciosa

Showy Goldenrod Blooms
These foot long feathery plumes are truly showstoppers. Blooming in August until October, atop three foot reddish stems. The Showy Goldenrod will attract late season pollinators. Sometimes as many as 8 rays on a multi-stemmed plant.

This showiest of all Goldenrods can even take some shade and moist, but well drained soils.

Those with allergies will not have to worry, goldenrod is not the source of pollen for hay fever sufferers. The pollen is sticky and does not become airborne.
